Ademola Lookman was on target again as Atletico Madrid defeated Espanyol 4-2 in Saturday La Liga action at the Metropolitano, Afrosport reports.
The Nigerian forward got his first European goal for the Spanish giants since his move from Atalanta in Wednesday’s 3-3 draw with Club Brugge in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League knockout playoffs.
Atleti went behind against Espanyol after Jofre scored in the sixth minute. They were however able to bounce back with Alexander Sorloth levelling in the 21st minute before Giuliano Simeone made it 2-1 four minutes into the second half.
Lookman scored the third goal in 58th to take his tally to four goals and two assists in six competitive games.

Sorloth completed his brace in the 72nd minute while Exposito netted the second consolation goal for Espanyol in the 80th minute.
Diego Simeone’s men remain fourth in the standings, 12 points behind leaders and fierce rivals Real Madrid who lost 2-1 at Osasuna earlier on.
