Athletic Club travelled to the Estadi de Son Moix to take on Mallorca for the final game in La Liga matchday 11 on Monday with the two sides playing out a goalless stalemate.
Mallorca midfielder Samuel Costa, who was the first player of the game to be carded, as early as the 10th minute, received his marching orders in the 23rd minute for a foul.

This tipped the match in the visitors’ favour very early as Mallorca could not do much to create chances after that. Despite the advantage in numbers, Athletic Club’s struggles at Mallorca continued as they failed to break the deadlock.
The Basque club will have to wait to end their winless run at Estadi de Son Moix since 2012. They are currently fifth in the La Liga standings with 18 points, and Mallorca are two spots behind in seventh on same point.
Up next for Mallorca is a trip to Mendizorroza to take on Alaves on Friday, while Athletic Club will host Real Betis at the San Mames two days later.
