Kudus: Lopetegui confident Kudus has learnt lesson from three-game West Ham ban

West Ham United manager Julien Lopetegui is assured that Mohammed Kudus has learnt his lesson after receiving a three-game ban following his red card in last weekend’s 4-1 Premier League loss to Tottenham Hotspur, Afrosport reports.

The Ghanaian caused a brawl to erupt after he pushed Micky van de Ven and Senegal midfielder Pape Matar Sarr in the face.

Referee Andy Madley had initially given Kudus a yellow card but it was upgraded to a red card for violent conduct after VAR review.

“Unfortunately Kudus is going to be out for three matches because his behaviour was not good and he knows that,” Lopetegui said ahead of West Ham’s league match with Manchester United.

“He knows he has to improve because this can’t happen. I hope it’s the last time this happens. I’m sure it is not going to happen [again].

“I talked with him and sometimes you don’t have to talk a lot about this kind of situation because he knows it was a mistake. I say, for sure, that he will learn about this incident and his behaviour will handle this better in the future.”

West Ham sit in 15th place on the league standings, with two wins, two draws and four defeats from eight games.
