Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has announced that he will leave the Premier League club at the end of the 2023-24 season.
The German coach has been at Anfield since 2015, helping the Reds to lift six trophies including the UEFA Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup during his reign.
Klopp, in a video published on the club’s social media pages, said he has informed Liverpool owners – FSG of his decision and he is running out of energy
“I will leave the club at the end of the season. I understand that it’s a shock,” Klopp said.
When we sat there together talking about potential signings, the next summer camp and can we go wherever, the thought came up, ‘I am not sure I am here then anymore’ and I was surprised myself by that. I obviously start thinking about it.”
Liverpool currently lead the Premier League table with a five-point lead above second-placed Manchester City as Klopp hopes to end his spell at Anfield with a second league title in England.
