‘Keep my name out of your mouth’ – Osimhen blasts Kvaratskhelia’s agent over transfer remarks

Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has hit out at Napoli teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s agent, Mamuka Jugeli, who claims he will be joining the Saudi Pro League next summer.

Osimhen’s future has been the subject of attention in the past year with the likes of Premier League outfits Chelsea, Arsenal and Manchester United as well as French Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain all rumoured to be interested in securing his services. He was also the subject of a rumoured €150 million transfer to Saudi Arabia which Napoli rejected last summer.

The reigning Serie A top scorer and African Footballer of the Year, however committed his future at the Stadio Diego Armando Maradona by singing a contract until 2026.

Jugeli, however, does not believe Osimhen will be in Napoli for long. He also seemed to criticise Osimhen for such a move, asserting that his client Kvaratskhelia, would never do such but would rather settle for Europe’s giants.

“Osimhen signed a new contract, but do you really think he will spend his entire career at Napoli?” Jugeli said in an interview with Georgian media 1Tv, as per La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“I can already tell you he will go to Saudi Arabia next summer. Napoli have raised his salary, but Khvicha would not accept such a transfer even for €1 billion. He’d rather play for Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Barcelona or Manchester City. Kvaratskhelia has different targets and preferences.”

Osimhen hit back at Jugeli by using offensive language to show his displeasure over his remarks and warned him not to mention his name in public.

“Dear Mamuka Jugeli, you are a piece of filth and a disgrace,” Osimhen said in a post on his Instagram Stories.

“I’m embarrassed by your sense of reasoning. Dumbf**k. Keep my name out of your mouth.”

Osimhen is currently on international duty with the Nigeria national team in preparation for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations which begins on Saturday with the Super Eagles playing a day later against Equatorial Guinea.
