The 21-year-old, who started the season slowly, has since ramped up his numbers, opening his December goal account in Real Madrid’s 2-0 win against Getafe, a match in which he also provided an assist.
Bellingham scored the only goal in a 2-1 defeat at Athletic Bilbao, got another goal and assist in a 3-0 home win against Girona, and scored the equaliser in their 3-3 draw at Rayo Vallecano.
The England international, who won his third Player of the Month award, has so far scored seven goals and provided six assists in 21 matches in all competitions, including six goals and four assists in La Liga.
He beat Oihan Sancet (Athletic Bilbao), Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid), Raphinha (Barcelona) and Sandro (Las Palmas) to win the award for the first time this season.
Meanwhile, Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone was named the La Liga Manager of the Month, having led the club to three wins in December, including a 2-1 comeback win at Barcelona.
Simeone’s Atletico are currently on a 12-game winning streak across all competitions, and they currently sit atop the La Liga standings with 41 points after 18 games.
