Jonathan Okoronkwo registers first goal involvement in Hatayspor win

Jonathan Okoronkwo registered his first goal involvement in a Hatayspor shirt with a brace and an assist in the 5-0 Turkish Super Lig win away at Adana Demispor on Saturday, Afrosport reports.

Okoronkwo was a summer signing from Russian Premier League side Krasnodar and was yet to either score or assist in 12 appearances.

His moment finally came in his 13th league outing when he scored the second goal of the game off an assist from Bilal Boutobba who netted the first goal.

Okoronkwo had the responsibility of taking a penalty in the 38th minute and while he initially missed, he was able to score from the rebound and make it a brace.

Joelson Fernandes made it 4-0 for Hatayspor in the 56th minute from the spot before Okoronkwo got his first assist, this time returning the favour for Boutobba to find the back of the net for his own brace.

The result ended a seven-game winless run for Hatayspor (D1 L6) in the Super Lig but was inconsequential as they have already been relegated from the Turkish top flight.

They currently sit second from bottom on the table and are 15 points away from safety with two games left to end the season.
