Alex Iwobi got his name on the scoresheet as Fulham caused a major upset by defeating Premier League leaders Liverpool 3-2 at Craven Cottage on Sunday, Afrosport reports.
Argentina midfielder Alexis Mac Allister put the Reds in front in the 14th minute off an assist from Ryan Gravenberch but Ryan Sessegnon was able to level for the Cottagers nine minutes later.
Iwobi put Fulham 2-1 up in the 32nd minute after a defensive error by Andy Robertson before the Super Eagles midfielder turned provider for Rodrigo Muniz five minutes later.
It extended the 28-year-old’s league tally to eight goals and five assists, making it his highest goal involvements in a season in his career in the English top flight.

Liverpool found the back of the net for the second time in the 72nd minute through Luis Diaz and was how far they could go.
The victory moved Marco Silva’s side within three points of an European qualification place while Arne Slot’s men are 11 points clear at the top of the standings.
In other Premier League results on Sunday, Brennan Johnson scored a brace as Tottenham Hotspur defeated bottom club Southampton 3-1. The result confirmed the Saints relegation from the Premier League with seven games left to end the season.
