Odion Ighalo was on the scoresheet as Al-Wehda recorded a 2-1 win away at Al-Fateh as the Saudi Pro League resumed on Thursday, Afrosport reports.

The Saudi top flight has been on break since early December but resumed with Australian forward Craig Goodwin putting Al-Wehda ahead in 14th minute.

It was not long after that Ighalo doubled their lead in the 26th minute for his fourth league goal of the season.

Algerian midfielder Sofiane Bendebka pulled one back for Al-Fateh in the 57th minute but proved to be nothing more than a consolation.

The victory moved Al-Wehda temporarily out of relegation zone to 15th, two points clear of Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong’s Al Kholood.

In other Saudi Pro League results on Thursday, Al Riyadh played out a 2-2 draw with Al Khaleej while Al Nassr came from behind to defeat Al-Akhdoud 3-1.

Nigeria forward Godwin Saviour put the visitors ahead before Sadio Mane’s brace and Cristiano Ronaldo’s penalty turned the game around for Stefano Pioli’s side.
