ICC Men’s U19 World Cup: Nigeria finalise preparations for Africa qualifiers

Nigeria Cricket Federation (NCF) has concluded preparations for the country’s participation in Africa qualifiers for the ICC Men’s U19 World Cup.

The NCF, on Friday, confirmed the 14 players that will be flying Nigeria’s flag in Tanzania when the quest for the sole World Cup ticket begins in Dar es Salaam from July 22.

The Junior Yellow Greens had a pre-tournament training camp in Kigali, Rwanda to familiarise themselves with the weather condition in East Africa and they departed the country on Thursday, July 13.

The 14-man squad will be led by captain Abdulkareem Ridwan and the players in the team include Prosper Use I, Chiemelie Udekwe, Joshua Asia, Paul Pam, David Abiebhode, Joshua Sunday, Chijioke Okeke, Izuchukwu Okeke, Kareem Gafar, Victor Samuel, Chidi Onuwbualili, Selim Salau and Solomon Chilemayan.

Nigeria’s Junior Yellow Greens will face Namibia, Uganda, Kenya, Sierra Leone and host Tanzania for a chance to qualify for next year’s ICC Men’s U19 World Cup that will take place in Sri Lanka.
