Jenni Hermoso will reportedly appeal the High Court ruling in the case against former Spanish Football Federation president Luis Rubiales, Afrosport reports.
Rubiales, on Thursday, was found guilty of kissing Hermoso without her consent but avoided jail time as he only received a fine and a restriction order.
The 46-year-old, who was acquitted of coercion after he was alleged to have pressured the Spain international to say the kiss was consensual, was handed a €10,800 fine by Spain’s High Court.
The ruling, however, seems not to be satisfactory for the player, whose lawyer, Angel Chavarria, revealed the player intended to appeal the ruling but failed to provide extensive details on the decision.
“It is her intention” to appeal, lawyer Chavarria said.
Prosecutors wanted a two-and-a-half-year prison term for Rubiales, who also said he will appeal against the verdict.
The former Spanish FA chief was also banned from communicating with or being within 200 meters of Hermoso for one year.
