Erling Haaland is unfazed by the new goal milestone he reached in Manchester City’s 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur in the Premier League on Wednesday night, Afrosport reports.
The Norwegian striker scored the only goal of the game which saw him reach 20 league goals for the season.
He became only the second player to score 20 goals or more in his first three seasons in the English top flight after Ruud van Nistelrooy for Manchester United between the 200-01 and 2003-04 seasons.
Haaland also became the second player to score 10 goals home and away in three separate seasons.
Reaching to reaching the milestone, the former Borussia Dortmund striker said: “Of course, it’s nice to hear that now obviously, but again, when you’re in the moment you don’t really think of it.
“In my first season at City, it was all talk about most goals in a season but I couldn’t think of that because all I wanted was to win games and win the league. So of course, it is nice to hear it after but that is not my focus.
“My focus is to help the team win, I know it’s boring but it’s true. Of course, it’s nice to score goals. We win and that’s what really matters.”

While he was delighted with scoring, Haaland stated that helping his team win games was the most important thing for him.
“Yeah, important win and happy to be back,” he added.
“Yeah, it’s good to be back. I feel good. Of course, it’s been a tough last few weeks but that’s life. You have to look forward, you have to keep going. And you have to stay positive because we can still manage to do things.
“We should have scored more goals and I think we should have finished the game. But this is what happens. In the end it’s a difificult game but we managed to win and that’s really important.
“Clean sheet and to win the game is amazing. So, we’re all happy.”
Haaland is second in the Premier League goalscorers chart, five behind Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah while Man City are fourth on the league standings.
