Pep Guardiola is confident that Mikel Arteta replace from Jurgen Klopp as his Premier League title rival.
The Manchester City and Liverpool managers have shared epic moments jostling for the top flight crown in the past six years including the 2018-19 and 2021-22 seasons when the Citizens beat the Reds to the title by just a point.
Klopp’s time at Anfield has however come to an end and Guardiola admitted that he would miss the German after City secured a fourth consecutive league title after City secured a fourth consecutive league title, two points clear of Arsenal and eight clear of Liverpool.

āI will miss him a lot,ā Guardiola said. āJurgen has been a really important part of my life .
āHe brought me to another level as a manger and we respect each other incredibly.
āI want to say thank you for his words and he knows that behind me there are people at this Club that support me.
āHe has been a huge competition in my life. In many moments, I didnāt find a way to finish them like I can with other teams.
āMikel [Arteta] will continue his legacy I am sure. Hopefully his final game was special for him, he deserves it.
āHe made people proud to be a Liverpool fan. They arrive in one place and they stay forever. Jurgen and Liverpool will be there with [Bill] Shankly and [Bob] Paisley.ā
City’s latest Premier League triumph was their fifth overall under Guardiola since he took charge in 2016.
