Groin injury rules Phoenix Suns star Booker out for 4 weeks

The Phoenix Suns have announced that star guard Devin Booker is suffering from a groin strain and will be re-evaluated in four weeks.

The 26-year-old missed the Suns’ previous three games before the Christmas Day special against the Denver Nuggets due to groin soreness.

However, he returned to the locker room early in the first quarter after less than five minutes of action, and the Nuggets won the tie 128–125 in overtime.

Booker has missed six of the last nine games because of hamstring and groin issues, and he’s expected to be out for at least another month.

The three-time All-Star is enjoying his best season in the NBA so far, averaging 27.1 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 29 games.

The Phoenix Suns are fifth in the Western Conference standings with 20 wins and 16 losses this season, and the loss of Booker might act as a stumbling block to their push for a playoff spot.
