Oliver Glasner has confirmed he will be leaving his role as manager of Crystal Palace club at the end of the season when his contract expires, Afrosport reports.
There has been speculation over Glasner’s future since start of the season after leading them to the FA Cup and Community Shield titles last year.
The Australian however revealed he had informed Palace chairman Steve Parish that he will not be renewing his deal at Selhurst Park.
“A decision has already been taken, months ago,” Glasner told reporters at a press conference on Friday. “I had a meeting with Steve (Parish) in October, the international break.
“We had a very long talk, and I told him I will not sign a new contract.
“We agreed at the time it was best to keep it between us. It’s the best that we could do that and keep it confidential for three months.
“But now it’s important to have clarity, and we had a very busy schedule, so that’s why we didn’t want to talk about it. Steve and I want the best for Crystal Palace.”
Glasner’s announcement of his departure comes as Palace captain Marc Guehi has agreed to join Manchester City with six months left on his contract.
