Giannis’ Bucks & Tatum-inspired Celtics grab crucial wins in Eastern Conference

At Madison Square Garden earlier today, the Milwaukee Bucks upset the New York Knicks 109-103 in a fiercely-contested game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo was in excellent form as his club earned their fourth victory in five games thanks to a double-double of 37 points and 13 rebounds.

The 27-year-old topped both sides in points, scoring 13 of his 25 field-goal attempts and nine of his 12 free throws despite only making two of his eight efforts from beyond the 3-point arc.

Shooting guard Grayson Allen made the biggest shot of the game with his first three-point field goal after Antetokounmpo was fouled out with a minute left to play.

Jrue Holiday (22points), Grayson Allen (11 points), Bobby Portis (10 points) and Pat Connaughton (10 points) all joined the 27-year-old of Nigerian-descent to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a hard-fought victory that sees them improve to a record of 15 wins and 5 losses in the Eastern Conference.

In other action, Boston Celtics star Jason Tatum had an MVP-like performance in his team’s 134-121 victory over the Miami Heat at the TD Garden.

The small forward ended the game with a legendary stat line of 49 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 assists, scoring eight of his twelve 3-point attempts, 11 of 12 from the free-throw line, and an impressive 15 of 25 field goal attempts.

Tatum became the youngest player in NBA history with 900 career threes and the first NBA player in history to record multiple games of 45+ points, 10-plus rebounds, and more than eight 3-pointers in a season.

The Boston Celtics have won five straight games and have an improved record of 18 wins and 4 losses this season as they maintain their dominant run at the top of the Eastern Conference.
