Bayern Munich star Jamal Musiala has backed Germany to triumph at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The 19-year-old Nigerian descent, who has a tally of 12 goals and 10 assists this season, expressed confidence in Die Mannschaft‘s chances of winning the quadrennial tournament.
While answering questions in a pre-match conference on Monday afternoon, Musiala reminisced about his time with the England youth team set-up and he talked up Germany’s chances to rule the world again.
“I think if you look at the quality that we bring to the pitch, then yes we are in with a chance…Why not? I mean we are very well-prepared and all of us are raring to go now”, the teenager said.
Hansi Flick’s men are in group E alongside Japan, Costa Rica and 2010 World Cup champions Spain.
Germany will begin their tournament in Qatar against 2019 Asian Cup runners-up Japan in a 2pm kick-off at the Khalifa International Stadium in Doha.
They will face Spain in their second game of the tournament on Sunday before battling it out against Costa Rica on Thursday, December 1 in their last game of the group stage.
