Michael Folorunsho is undergoing a medical with Cagliari ahead of a loan move from Napoli that includes the option to buy, Afrosport reports.
The 27-year-old Italian of Nigerian heritage is presently in the capital city of Rome for medical tests as part of the requirements to finalise the transfer.
According to Football Italia, Cagliari have the option to buy Folorunsho at the end of the loan deal for €8 million.
He has been on the books of Napoli since 2019 with a contract in place until 2029. He has however failed to nail a regular starting place in the Partenopei squad, and has rather had loan spells at Bari, Reggina, Pordenone, Hellas Verona and most recently Fiorentina last season.
Folorunsho has earned two caps for the Italy national team in a friendly win against Bosnia-Herzegovina in June 2024 and against Albania in the Euro 2024 championship group stage.
