Shooting Stars have been expelled from the 2025 President Federation Cup for fielding five ineligible players in their match against Zamfara United FC, Afrosport reports.
Despite advancing to the round-of-32 after Zamfara United failed to show up for their round-of-64 clash, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) enforced the decision after discovering the unregistered players.
The ineligible Shooting Stars players fielded are Samuel Okon, Sodiq Ibrahim, Ephraim Nwachukwu, Nonso Nzediegwu and Ukeme Williams.
Meanwhile, holders of the President Federation Cup, El-Kanemi Warriors advanced to the Round-of-32 after defeating Simon Ben FC 3-2 on Wednesday in Bauchi.
In other results, Ikorodu City edged Sunshine Stars U-19 4-3 on penalties after a 1-1 draw at the end of regulation time, while Bendel Insurance thrashed Dandidi babes 5-0, and Rivers United defeated Barau FC 2-1.
Katsina United beat Green Beret FC 1-0, Nasarawa United won 2-0 against Flight FC, Bayelsa United walked over EFCC FC and Akwa United won 2-1 against Kebbi United.
Lobi stars were 2-0 victors against Discovery Talent FC, Kwara United beat Cynosure FC 2-0, Sunshine Stars recorded a 2-0 win at the expense of Bako FC just as Plateau United won 2-1 against Ahudiyannem FC.
On Thursday, Yobe Desert Stars will take on Abakaliki FC, and Mighty Jets FC lock horns with Imperial FC in Abuja.
