Max Verstappen is confident of Red Bull Racing making gains in the RB21 car ahead of the 2025 Formula 1 season, Afrosport reports.
The Duch driver is seeking a fifth straight drivers’ championship and will hope to do it in dominant fashion after coming under threat from McLaren’s Lando Norris last year.
Verstappen won seven of the first 10 races in 2024 before going on a 10-race winless run which ended with a commanding drive at a wet Sao Paulo Grand Prix that paved the way for the title to be sealed in La Vegas.
The RB21 broke cover for the first time at the Bahrain International Circuit on Tuesday. Reacting after the shakedown, Verstappen said: “The development direction we chose at the time showed a lot of promise, but unfortunately it didn’t work like that on track so we had to change a few things.
“Now let’s hope that is the right direction. We are confident it is the right direction but let’s see how much we can extract out of it for this final season with this car.”
