United States Vice President Kamala Harris has revealed she is a Formula 1 fan with Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton her favourite driver, Afrosport reports.
Harris is currently running as the Democratic nominee for next month’s presidential elections against former president and Republican nominee Donald Trump.
She made an appearance on the Howard Stern Show as part of her campaign activities and spoke about her love for F1.
“It’s so good. We love it. Our whole family does,” she said.
Harris then responded when asked who her favourite driver was: “Lewis Hamilton, of course. He’s leaving Mercedes.”
Harris however said she has not had time to watch races owing to her presidential campaign activities.
“No. God no. No. Actually, I haven’t been able to watch it recently because I am campaigning, also depending on where they are driving, the time of day, you have to wake up,” she added.
American audiences face the challenge of watching F1 races very early in the morning due to difference in time zones of European circuits but Harris told the interviewer, Stern, that he might like it once he takes time to watch an F1 race.
“Once you start…you should see it, you might get hooked,” she concluded.

Ironically, the next F1 destination is the Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas for the United States Grand Prix on October 20.
