Isack Hadjar says he would not refuse a promotion to Red Bull Racing after scoring his first points in Formula 1 with sister team Racing Bulls at the Japanese Grand Prix on Sunday, Afrosport reports.
The 20-year-old French-Algerian put in a solid performance in Suzuka, qualifying seventh and was only beaten by Ferrari’s Lewis Hamilton to finish the race in eighth.
Hadjar was also able to finish ahead of Racing Bulls returnee Liam Lawson and new Red Bull driver Yuki Tsunoda.
This potentially makes Hadjar a prime candidate for a Red Bull seat should it want to give another driver a chance to race alongside Max Verstappen.
There is already uncertainty about Tsunoda’s mid-term future with the Red Bull and whether he will remain a part of the Red Bull family following their impending split with Honda.
When asked if would be the next in line at Milton Keynes, Hadjar said: “To be honest, I’m really enjoying where I’m at the moment.
“I would never refuse a call, that’s for sure. But, yeah, that’s [on] him [Red Bull management to decide]. Honestly, I’m just having fun at the moment.”
Bravo, Isack

Hadjar was also a quizzed on whether he is now the leader at Racing Bulls, to be which he responded: “I still think Liam is more experienced. Even within the team, he was already driving for them in ’23, so he’s bringing a bit more experience than I am.
“But obviously, I started the year here so let’s call it equal. But we’re definitely working really, really well together.”
The F1 paddock will head to Sakhir for the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend.
