Isack Hadjar has appreciated Lewis Hamilton’s father, Anthony, after he consoled the Racing Bulls rookie following his early crash in Sunday’s Australian Grand Prix, Afrosport reports.
Hadjar had a disappointing start to his Formula 1 career when he crashed out on the formation in Melbourne due to wet conditions.
The 20-year-old was left shaken by the accident and seemed to be crying as he made his way back to the pitlane.
Anthony Hamilton was then seen putting his arm around Hadjar as both walked across the paddock together.
Reacting to the gesture, last season’s Formula 2 runner-up said: “He told me to keep my head high and be proud and he did say I did well. It’s a nice gesture from him.”

Speaking on his crash, Hadjar added: “Not great. I just lost the rear end of the car and in these conditions, they just snap so fast and it’s unsaveable.
“I couldn’t get the grip back. I tried to save it but it was just…
“I knew it was going to be tricky. Even on the laps to the grid, I was like ‘ok this is tricky’ but it was definitely drivable.
“I’m just sorry for the team and my close ones that watched the race. It’s just embarrassing.”
Hadjar will hope to have a clean race in the next F1 round at the Chinese Grand Prix this weekend.
