F1: Ex-Ferrari strategy chief Rueda joins Audi as sporting director

Sauber have announced that Former Ferrari head of strategy Inaki Rueda will join Audi as their new Formula 1 sporting director from 2025, taking over from Beat Zehnder who will become the director of signature programs and operations, Afrosport reports.

The move is part of a restructuring process at Sauber as they prepare to be morphed into the Audi Works team from the 2026 season when new engine regulations kick in.

Sauber also announced Giampaolo Dall’Ara as their new head of race engineering and will oversee operations at their Hinwil base and on the racetrack.

The Swiss team, under the leadership of former Ferrari team principal Mattia Binotto, have endured a dismal 2024 F1 season, failing to score a single point which puts them at the bottom of the constructors’ championship with four rounds to go.
