Moroccan midfielder Amine Harit scored his first goal of the season for Marseille in their 3-1 win over ten-man AEK Athens in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The 26-year-old converted his spotkick in the 60th minute in front of a packed Stade Velodrome after AEK goalkeeper Cican Stankovic got sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.

Harit improved his output in the competition to four goal involvements, having previously provided three assists: two against Ajax and one against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Marseille opened the scoring in the 27th minute through Portuguese forward Vitinha, who scored their sixth goal in the competition. Despite being one man short, Mexican midfielder Orbelin Pineda drew Athens level in the 57th minute.

Harit restored his side’s lead on the hour mark before French midfielder Jordan Veretout added a third for the home team nine minutes later to ensure they picked up their first win in the group and their second since Gennaro Gattuso took over as head coach in late September.
The win sees Les Phoceens leapfrog AEK into the top spot in Group B of Europe’s second division, while the latter drop into second place having suffered their first defeat in the competition.
