Ghanaian star Mohammed Kudus was on target in West Ham United’s 3-1 comeback win over Serbian side Backa Topola at the London Stadium in the Europa League on Thursday night.
The former Ajax midfielder opened his account for the Hammers with a tap-in at the back post after excellent play down the left from James Ward-Prowse.

West Ham went behind early in the second half through Petar Stanic’s calm finish past Lukasz Fabianski after he stripped Angelo Ogbonna of the ball. Topola’s left-back, Nemanja Petrovic, was unfortunate to score his own goal to help the home side back in the game. Algerian forward Said Benrahma’s cross was turned in by Petovic in the 66th minute.
Kudus helped David Moyes’ side complete their comeback four minutes later. Ward-Prowse sat down his marker before sending a cross into the back pots, where the Black Stars midfielder crept in behind the full back and tapped into an empty net.

Ward-Prowse continued his excellent season with the Hammers as he turned provider once again for his side’s third goal. The former Southampton midfielder’s corner was headed in by Czech midfielder Tomas Soucek to seal all available points and send them atop Group A.
In the other group game, Moroccan forward Ayoub El Kaabi scored a brace for Olympiacos, but the Greek side suffered a 3-2 defeat to SC Freiburg at the Karaiskakis Stadium.

The 30-year-old forward scored on his debut in the European competition for Olympiacos to take his tally for the club to six goals in nine matches since he joined this summer.
Olympiacos currently sit third in the standings without a point, while Freiburg are in second place with three points behind West Ham on goal difference.
