England are set to play Senegal in an international friendly at the City Ground in June, Afrosport reports.
According to The Athletic, the Football Association has invited the Teranga Lions to be the opposition for the post-season match that will give new manager Thomas Tuchel the opportunity to learn more about the players he has inherited from Gareth Southgate.
If all the details are finalised, the game will take place on June 10, three days after England play Andorra away from home in the 2026 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
It will mark the first time the Three Lions have played at the home ground of Nottingham Forest since a friendly against Wales in 1941.
Tuchel’s first assignment will however come during the March International break with World Cup Qualifiers against Albania and Latvia.
Senegal and England last met in the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, with the Three Lions winning 3-0.
Pape Thiaw’s side will face Sudan and Togo in the their own 2026 World Cup qualifiers in March. They are currently second in Group B, two points behind the Sudanese.
