Chidera Ejuke is confident that his Sevilla teammate Kelechi teammate will rediscover his best form soon, Afrosport reports.
Iheanacho is currently on loan at Championship side Middlesbrough after failing to establish himself at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan since joining on a free transfer from Leicester City last summer.
Ejuke, also a summer signing, by contrast, has been able to make a name for himself with the Andalusian giants.
He has pointed to slowly adapting to the Spanish environment as a reason for Iheanacho’s struggles but believes his Nigerian teammate will improve in the next season.
“You can’t take any credit away from Iheanacho, to be honest, because we all know who he is. With his quality, with his success in the Premier League with Leicester, he’s a top-level player, with a lot of qualities and everything,” Ejuke told Hill of Nervion.
“The adaptation probably hasn’t been easy, but you can’t take anything away from him. He’s only out for a while, and hopefully, he’ll come back in the next phase of the new season and pick up where he left off.
“We always have a good feeling. The atmosphere in the team, in general, is good, and, of course, with Dodi, I’ve known him before, the same with Iheanacho, I knew him before, and with Akor Adams as well.
“So, obviously, we have a certain dynamic, and also, with Akor and Iheanacho, we’re Nigerians. So, we have that Nigerian vibe and all that. It’s a good atmosphere and it’s always enjoyable,”

Meanwhile, Ejuke was not called up to the Super Eagles squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe which raised some eyebrows.
The former CSKA Moscow man has no ill feelings towards his omission and wishes the team well.
“We’ve got a lot of players in Nigeria, and believe me, at the end of the day it’s the coach’s decision, and he knows what he’s doing,” he added. “So, for me, if I have the opportunity to go there, I’ll always be happy to represent my country. I wish the boys the best and obviously, I’ll be watching as well, and I hope they win the games.”
Ejuke has earned eight caps for Nigeria, last featuring in the group stage at the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.
