Egypt’s Omar Marmoush named Man City Player of the Month for March

Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush has won the Manchester City Player of the Month award for his stellar performances in March, Afrosport reports.

Marmoush, who joined City from Eintracht Frankfurt in the January transfer window, fended off competition from teammates Nico O’Reilly and Erling Haaland following votes from the club’s supporters.

The Egypt international picked up his third monthly honour with the Premier League champions, having also won the Goal of the Month award for February and March.

Marmoush played three times for City in March, scoring two goals as they secured one win, one draw, and a loss in the month.

After failing to find the back of the net in a 1-0 loss at Nottingham Forest, he scored in their 2-2 draw at home to Brighton & Hove Albion, a strike that earned the Goal of the Month award.

He then came on as a substitute in the FA Cup quarter-finals at Bournemouth, scoring the winner to help City book a place in the semi-finals at Wembley.

The 26-year-old forward has six goals and one assist in 13 appearances across all competitions since joining Pep Guardiola’s side.
