Wolfsburg’s Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush has been nominated for the Bundesliga Player of the Month award for March.
The 24-year-old scored two goals in three Bundesliga matches as Wolfsburg maintained an unbeaten run of three games in the month under review.
His impressive contributions helped Niko Kovac’s team rise to seventh in the German top-flight standings with 38 points from 25 matches, they are two points off European qualification zone.
Marmoush is up against Raphael Guerreiro, Jeremie Frimpong, Exequiel Palacios, Erhan Masovic and Marius Bulter for the monthly individual recognition.

He is aiming to become the first Egyptian player to win the Bundesliga award for the first time since Mohamed Zidan clinched it in February 2007 during his playing stint at Mainz.
Earlier this week, Marmoush helped Egypt secure their qualification ticket for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in the Ivory Coast with a goal in the Pharaohs’ 4-0 defeat of Malawi.
