It was a thrilling night of Mixed Martial Arts in South Africa as the Extreme Fighting Championship did not disappoint with an action-packed EFC 101.
Zimbabwe-born Nicholas Hwende retained his Bantamweight title by beating Roevan de Beer.
Hwende extended his unbeaten EFC run with a tap-out win after De Beer verbally submitted following some brutal punches that made his right shoulder pop out of the socket.
In the other title event, Romania’s Alice Ardelean cruised to clinch the women’s Strawweight title with a first-round victory over South Africa’s Jessica Mouneimme.
Ardelean did not waste time to rush blows on Mouneimne’s face which led to her fall but she survived an early submission. The fight was stopped just after round one as Mouneimne’s doctor stepped in avoid any further damage.
