Donnarumma left out of PSG squad for UEFA Super Cup

European champions Paris Saint-Germain have excluded Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma from their travelling squad for the 2025 UEFA Super Cup, Afrosport reports.

PSG are set to face Europa League winners Tottenham Hotspur in the Super Cup on Wednesday at Udinese’s Stadio Friuli.

Donnarumma, whose current contract runs until June 2026, will reportedly not sign a new deal with French club and could possibly leave this summer or as a free agent at the end of next season.

The 26-year-old is said to be attracting interest from several Premier League sides, with Manchester United and Chelsea both reportedly monitoring his situation.

Since joining PSG from AC Milan in the summer of 2021, the Italy international has made 161 appearances and kept 56 clean sheets across all competitions, winning 10 trophies.

Donnarumma played a crucial role in PSG’s success last season, featuring in 47 matches as they secured a historic treble—clinching the Ligue 1 title, the Coupe de France, and the UEFA Champions League, along with the Trophee des Champions.

His omission from the Super Cup squad comes amid speculation that he is being forced out following the arrival of French goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille. Chevalier, 23, is widely tipped to become PSG’s new first-choice goalkeeper ahead of the new season.

Meanwhile, Luis Enrique’s side will also be without Portuguese midfielder Joao Neves, who is suspended following a red card in the Club World Cup final against Chelsea.  The 20-year-old was dismissed after a VAR review showed him pulling Marc Cucurella’s hair.
