Done Deal: Tottenham complete Danjuma’s deal from Villarreal

Tottenham Hotspur have captured Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal for the rest of the season.

The Lagos-born forward will get to play in the Spurs attack alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Dejan Kulusevski, Richarlison and Lucas Moura.

“We are delighted to announce the signing of Arnaut Danjuma on loan from Villarreal until the end of the 2022/23 season, subject to international clearance,” a statement read on Tottenham’s website.

Danjuma becomes the first signing for Tottenham in the January transfer window.

He comes in at a time when Antonio Conte’s men are struggling, registering four defeats in their last eight league matches which has left them three points away from the top four having played a game more.

Danjuma was a regular player at Villarreal this season, making 17 appearances in all competitions and scoring six goals, two in each competition he has played this season (La Liga, Copa del Rey and Europa Conference League).

The Netherlands international was previously on the books of Bournemouth between 2019 and 2021, scoring 17 goals and providing eight assists.

He previously plied his trade in his homeland at PSV Eindhoven and NEC Nijmegen as well as Clun Brugge in Belgium.
