Wolverhampton Wanderers have completed the signing of Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Genk in a deal worth £24 million, Afrosport reports.
The 24-year-old has signed a four-year contract at Wolves, with the option for a further year. He becomes the seventh summer arrival at the Molineux, joining the likes of Jhon Arias, Jackson Tchatchoua and Ladislav Krejci.
“It feels amazing,” Arokodare told the club website. “It did take a while, but I’m here finally, and I’m happy to be here. I didn’t need convincing.
“I know the history of the club and the players that have been here and how they’ve progressed to become better players. I like the project of the club, and that’s what I want for myself. I want to improve and I want to progress and help this team.”
It’s Tolu time.

The Nigeria international joined Genk in January 2023 from Latvian side Valmiera and scored 41 goals in 113 apearances for the club. He enjoyed individual success with the Genk, as his 21 goals in the Belgian Pro League last season earned him the Golden boot.
Arokodare, who already has one goal in five matches this season, also won the prestigious Ebony Shoe award given to the best African or African origin player in the Belgian Pro League.
The 6ft 6in striker is expected to partner Norwegian striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. The 25-year-old was a target for Newcastle, but Wolves rejected bids of £50m and £55m for him last week.
“I think I’ll fit in pretty good, Arokodare added. “If you, for example, look at the strikers that we have now, we’re almost the same profile, so it won’t be difficult for me to adapt. You could see how good [Jorgen Strand] Larsen did last season, and I’m just here to help the team.”
“The Premier League is a league full of physicality, high intensity, a lot of runs, and I think I’m that kind of player. I think I’m strong, I’m fast. Obviously, the first few games and weeks won’t be the easiest, but it’s a challenge that I think I’m ready for, and I think I’ll fit in pretty good.”
Wolves currently sit bottom in the Premier League, having lost their opening three matches. Arokodare could make his debut against Newcastle on 13 September when club action returns after the international break.
