Done Deal: Sancho rejoins Borussia Dortmund on loan from Man United

Jadon Sancho has rejoined Borussia Dortmund on loan from Manchester United for the rest of the 2023-24 season.

The 23-year-old English winger moved to Old Trafford from Signal Iduna Park for £73 million in the summer of 2021 but has not played for United since August 26th after falling out with manager Erik ten Hag and has been training away from the first team since September.

Sancho has already arrived in Germany following the completion of his medical on Wednesday, stating it felt he was back at home when he entered the dressing room.

He will join the club’s ongoing mid-season training camp in Marbella ahead of the Bundesliga resumption this weekend when Dortmund travel to Darmstadt.

“When I came into the dressing room today, it felt like ‘coming home’,” Sancho told the club website.

“I know the club inside and out, I’ve always been very close with the fans here, and I’ve never lost contact with those in charge.

“I can’t wait to see my team-mates again, go out on the pitch, play football with a smile on my face, prepare goals, score goals and help qualify for the Champions League.”

Sancho’s loan contract contains no option to buy but Dortmund will pay a reported 3.5m euros loan fee with an additional four million euros in add-ons subject to appearances, Champions League progress and qualification.
