Barcelona have officially announced the signing of Marcus Rashford on a season-long loan from Manchester United, Afrosport reports.
The agreement will see the forward remain at Camp Nou until June 2026. The deal also includes an option to buy reported to be just over £30m, along with a £5m penalty clause.
Barcelona and United finalised terms last week, with the La Liga giants agreeing to cover Rashford’s full annual wage worth £14m . The player himself accepted a 15% reduction on his £325,000-per-week salary to facilitate the move.
He gets his first move away from the Premier League and becomes the first English player to sign for Barcelona since Gary Lineker in 1986.
“I’m very excited,” Rashford told Barcelona’s YouTube channel. “It’s a club where people’s dreams come true, they win big prizes.
“What the club stands for means a lot for me. I feel like I’m at home and a big factor in my choice to come here is because it is a family place and a good place for good players to showcase their skills.”

The 27-year-old expressed his readiness for a new challenge in an interview in December, shortly after being dropped from the United squad by head coach Ruben Amorim.
He last played for the Red Devils in a Europa League tie against Viktoria Plzen on 12 December and spent the second half of last season on loan at Aston Villa, scoring four goals in 17 appearances for the club.
A graduate of the famous United Academy, he made his first-team debut as an 18-year-old in February 2016. Over the next nine seasons, he went on to score 138 goals in 426 matches, lifting five trophies with his boyhood club.
Having long been linked with a move to Barcelona, the England international has finally secured his dream transfer, with new manager Hansi Flick playing a key role in luring him to Spain.
“Another factor is because the conversations I had with [Hansi Flick] were positive. What he did last season was terrific. To lead such a young team to a very successful season and come back to pre-season and still want to do more, it shows me everything I thought I knew about the club and it’s everything I wished.
“I’m eager to learn the Barcelona way.”
Rashford will wear the 14 shirt at Barcelona, following in the footsteps of club legends such as World Cup winner Thierry Henry, Ronald Koeman, and Javier Mascherano.
He becomes the club’s third summer signing, following the arrivals of goalkeeper Joan Garcia and youngster Roony Bardghji.
The Spanish champions are set to depart for their pre-season tour of Asia on Thursday, with Rashford expected to be included in the travelling squad. Barcelona will face Vissel Kobe, FC Seoul, and Daegu FC over a 10-day stretch in Japan and South Korea as they prepare for the new campaign.
