Nigerian midfielder Frank Onyeka has completed a season-long loan move to German side Augsburg from Premier League club Brentford, Afrosport reports.
The 26-year-old joined the Bees in July 2021, and he made 78 appearances, scoring once and providing four assists during his time at the Gtech Community Stadium.
“Frank [Onyeka] has been an important player during our last three seasons in the Premier League,” Brentford head coach Thomas Frank said.
“He has been a big part of our success, and I can’t praise him enough for that in every aspect. Frank wants to play week in, week out as a starter; this is a good opportunity for him to do that.
“We have a lot of young midfielders who also need minutes, so this is a good loan for Frank and the club.”
Onyeka’s move, which includes a buy option clause and is subject to international clearance, will see the Nigeria international move to the Bundesliga to ply his trade at Augsburg Arena.
