Dessers scores 50th Rangers goal in Scottish Premiership win over Dundee United

Tottenham attacker Kulusevski ruled out of Europa League final

Cyriel Dessers scored two goals as Rangers came from behind to defeat Dundee United 3-1 in the championship playoff round of the Scottish Premiership on Wednesday night, Afrosport reports.

The Gers were behind after 20 minutes as 19-year-old Samuel Cleall-Harding scored for the visitors.

The home team however did not take too long to respond as Dessers equalised with a powerful header off a Jefte cross five minutes later.

The game remained level until the 73rd minute when Dessers converted from the penalty spot for his 17th Premiership goal of the season.

It is a personal best for the Super Eagles forward in the Scottish top fight having scored 16 times in his debut campaign.

It was also the third highest league tally of his career after netting 22 goals while on the books of NAC Breda during the 2016-17 Eerste Divisie season.

He has now scored a landmark 50th Rangers goal in 108 competitive games, 28 of them occurring this term.

Belgium midfielder Nicolas Raskin scored the final goal for Rangers in the 75th minute to complete the comeback.

Barry Ferguson’s side are guaranteed to finish second in the standings with 17 points separating them and fierce rivals and leaders Celtic with one more round of league fixtures left to play.
