Bayern Munich have completed the signing of Senegal forward Jackson on loan from Chelsea with the obligation to buy him at the end of 2025-26 season, Afrosport reports.
The Bavarian giants had initially reached an agreement at the weekend, with the 24-year-old on his way to Munich. The deal however collapsed reportedly owing to new Chelsea striker suffering an injury in the 2-0 Premier League win over London rivals Fulham on Saturday.
Both parties have now struck a deal with Bayern, paying a reported €16 million as loan fee with an obligation to purchase him for €65 million at the end of the deal.
It would present a massive financial gain for Chelsea who purchased Jackson for €37 million in 2023 from Villarreal and contributed 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 games, winning the UEFA Conference League and FIFA Club World Cup.
“I’m really happy to now be part of this great club,” he told the club website.
“Bayern is one of the best clubs in the world. Everyone knows the names of the legends who’ve played here and knows that this club stands for the greatest success.
“I’ve got big goals and dreams here and will give my all to help Bayern win further titles.”
Meanwhile, Bayern sporting director Christoph Freund said of Jackson’s signing: “Nicolas will add another dimension to our attacking play.
“He covers a wide range of areas. He brings a lot of speed, is dangerous in front of goal and looks for ways to get in behind the defence for the good of the team. He is also an open, positive guy and will have no trouble settling into our team.”
