New Napoli signing Kevin de Bruyne says he is excited to work with his fellow Belgium teammate Romelu Lukaku, Afrosport reports.
De Bruyne joined the Partenopei after ending his 10-year relationship with Manchester City that produced 108 goals, 177 assists and 19 titles.
Both Lukaku and De Bruyne were on the books of Chelsea between 2012 and 2014 but failed to make a name for themselves in the team which prompted their respective sales to Everton and Wolfsburg.
They have however been central figures for Belgium with 120 goals, 70 assists and 235 caps between them.
“I’ve known Romelu since I was 13 years old. He spoke a lot of good words about the team, the city, so I am excited to do good things together,” De Bruyne said.
“I’m excited, it is something that is very new for me, I lived in England for 10 years, but I think it is going to be a nice experience for me, for my family, and I’m looking forward to it.”
De Bruyne went on to state his ambition to win more with Napoli.
“I’m a winner, I want to win games. I’ve always been like this, I hate losing,” the 33-year-old added.
“The team won the Scudetto last year, so they are in the Champions League. I’m hopeful that we can create something good for the future together.
“The team wants to win, they are ambitious, it looks like a really good team put together, so for me it was a really nice project to come into and hopefully I can help the team get their ambitions through.”
