Darren Moore has left his position as Sheffield Wednesday manager a few weeks after leading them into the Championship.
The 49-year-old led the Owls to a 1-0 extratime win over Barnsley in the League One play-off final last month but is remembered for the epic comeback in the semi-finals where Sheffield overturned a 4-0 first leg loss over Peterborough United to win the return leg 5-1 and ultimately 5-3 on penalties.
Moore and his entire backroom staff have now left Hillsborough with Wednesday chairman Dejphon Chansiri stating: “Both parties believe that now is the right time we go our separate ways.
“The journey of Sheffield Wednesday with Darren has been in many ways unique and always as a team. In the football industry, journeys come to an end and now is that time, which we both agree.
“The mutual respect we have for each other is immense on a personal and professional basis and I offer my sincere thanks for the dedication and commitment Darren has given to our club.”
