Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish and head coach Oliver Glasner are seemingly at odds over the potential sale of club captain Marc Guehi, Afrosport reports.
The 25-year-old has a year left on his contract at Selhurst Park and has drawn heavy interest from Premier League champions Liverpool.
Parish has already stated previously, he would prefer to sell the Abidjan-born England defender in this transfer window rather than lose him as a free agent next summer.
Palace are set to lose another influential player in Eberechi Eze, who is on the verge of joining London rivals Arsenal.
“If Marc wants to sign a contract, he can stay. If he doesn’t, then we have to look at it. It’s a difficult situation, the chairman said after the 1-0 UEFA Conference League win over Fredrikstad.
“Players leaving on a free is not ideal, I’m not going to pretend it is. That’s a situation we have to look at in the next eleven days.”
However, Glasner, in his reaction, said losing Guehi will pose problems for the club, especially in their European campaign.
“I just know if Marc leaves and is not available for Fredrikstad, then we will have big trouble. We can’t register anyone new to the Conference League squad in between the first and second leg, so from my side, he has to stay.”
