Cole palmer gets new jersey number at Chelsea

Cole Palmer will wear the number 10 shirt at Chelsea ahead of the 2025-26 season, Afrosport reports.

Palmer, who joined the Blues from Manchester City in September 2023, has worn the No. 20 shirt in his two seasons at Stamford Bridge.

The 23-year-old gets the No. 10 shirt from Ukraine international Mykhailo Mudryk and follows in the footsteps of past Chelsea stars like Joe Cole, Eden Hazard, Juan Mata, Willian and Christian Pulisic.

The England international has 40 goals and 27 assists in 91 appearances for the club and provided two assists in their 4-1 win over Real Betis in the UEFA Conference League final.

Palmer will switch to the new number from the 2025 Club World Cup, set to take place in the United States from 14 June to 13 July.

The Blues are drawn in Group D for the Club World Cup, and Palmer will wear the No. 10 shirt for the first time in their opening game against Los Angeles FC on 16 June at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
