Ahead of the final qualifying round for the 2025 African Nations Championship (CHAN), the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has released the list of officials to oversee the two-legged encounter between Nigeria and Ghana, Afrosport reports.
The first leg, which is slated for the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday, 22 December 2024, will be overseen by Togo referee Aklesso Gnama who will be supported by compatriots Jonathan Ahonto Koffi, Wassiou Tchamolla Ourotou, and Kossi Fabrice Senyo, who will function as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2, and fourth official, respectively.
Ivan Gator Brown from Liberia will serve as match commissioner, while Hugues Alain Adjovi from the Benin Republic has been selected as referee assessor.
The return leg, however, will be played at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo, on Saturday, 28 December, and CAF has appointed Moroccan Hamza El Fariq as referee.
El Fariq will be joined by countrymen Abdessamad Abertoune, Zakaria Bouchtaoui, and Hicham Temsamani, who will work as assistant referee 1, assistant referee 2, and fourth official, respectively, while the duo of Prince Kai Saquee from Sierra Leone and DR Congo’s Miboti Moise will serve as commissioner and referee assessor, respectively.
The first leg between the Black Galaxies and CHAN Eagles in Accra will kick off at 4pm local time (5pm in Nigeria), while the second leg in Uyo is scheduled for 5pm local time (4pm in Ghana).
The winner over the two legs will book a spot in the 2025 CHAN finals, the eighth edition of the tournament, competed for by players playing in their home countries.
The 2025 CHAN is slated to be hosted by Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania from 1–28 February 2025.
