Nigeria have been drawn against West African rivals Ghana in the WAFU B draw for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN) Qualifiers, Afrosport reports.
The qualifiers draw, conducted at the headquarters of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Cairo, Egypt, on Wednesday, determined the pairing for all 42 participating teams from the six zones.
Nigeria, the bronze medallist from the 2014 edition, will take on Ghana in the second round, seeing as the two teams were seeded.
The CHAN Eagles and the Black Galaxies will lock horns across two legs, with the Ghanaians hosting the first fixture.

In the other draws in the WAFU B Zone, hosts Togo will take on Benin Republic in the only first round fixture.
The winner of the first round tie will battle Niger in the second round. Meanwhile, Cote d’Ivoire will face Burkina Faso in the other game in the zone.
According to CAF, the first round of qualifiers will be played on the weekend of 25–27 October and 01–03 November 2024, with the second round confirmed for 20–22 December and 27–29 December 2024.
The CHAN 2024, the eighth edition of the tournament, will be held in Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania between February 1 and 28, 2025.
