Two-time African Nations Championship winners Morocco moved into the semi-finals of the 2024 edition after defeating co-hosts Tanzania in Dar es Salaam on Friday, Afrosport reports.
The Atlas Lions finished second in Group A behind co-hosts Kenya, while the Taifa Stars topped Group B ahead of Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Central African Republic.
After failing to create anything from a combined five shots on target in the first half, the floodgates were finally opened in the 65th minute when Youssef Belammari nicely set up Oussama Lamlioui for a clinical finish.
It was the RS Berkane forward’s fourth goal of the tournament, which sees him top the goalscorer charts.

The goal was more than enough to send the Moroccans to their consecutive CHAN semi-final, where they will face either co-hosts Uganda or reigning champions Senegal.
