Cagliari have parted ways with head coach Davide Nicola after leading them to Serie A safety for the just-concluded 2024- 25 season, Afrosport reports.
Nicola took charge of Cagliari last July, signing a two-year deal after replacing Claudio Ranieri, who retired from management before coming back to manage AS Roma in November until the end of the campaign.
The 52-year-old was able to lead the Sardinians to safety with a 15th-place finish, five points clear of the relegation zone.
“The club would like to thank coach Nicola and his staff for the work, seriousness and passion shown in this season that culminated with our stay in the top flight,” Cagliari said in a statement.

He also managed clubs like Udinese as well as lower-tier sides in Lumezzane, Livorno, Bari and Crotone.
