The Queens opened the scoring in the 12th minute through Moshood, who coolly slotted the ball past the goalkeeper after controlling a pass from Janet Akekoromowei’s header.
The Nigerians almost double their lead, but a goal-line clearance in the 36th minute kept the scores at 1-0 heading into the break.
Bayelsa Queens got their second goal of the game through substitute Emem Essien in the 62nd minute. The former Edo Queens forward, who replaced Sofiat Bankole, tucked away a cross from Moshood to get her name on the scoresheet.
Police Ladies halved the deficit six minutes later through Berko, who benefitted from a defensive melee, setting up a tense ending.
The Ghanaians probed for an equaliser, but Bayelsa held on for the victory, with Flamingos star Moshood claiming the Player of the Match award.
Bayelsa Queens will hope to maintain their perfect start to the tournament when they face Togo’s Association Sportive de la Kozah on Wednesday before tackling Sam Nelly FC of Benin Republic in their final Group B on Saturday.
