Current CAF Champions League holders Al-Ahly advanced into the semi-finals after a 1-0 aggregate win over Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman in the quarter-final second leg on Tuesday night, Afrosport reports.
The first leg in Cairo ended goalless but Emam Ashour was the one to make the difference in the return leg thanks to his 80th minute effort.
Al-Ahly will get to face Mamelodi Sundowns in the semi-finals after the South African giants knocked out Esperance of Tunisia 1-0 on aggregate, the second leg in Tunis ending goalless.
Pyramids FC of Egypt were also able to make it to semis despite a 2-0 loss away at AS FAR of Morocco.
The Cairo outfit won the first leg at home 4-1, giving them a healthy lead going into the return leg.

They will get to face the winner of Wednesday’s last quarter-final tie between Orlando Pirates and MC Alger, the former holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg in Algiers.
