Al-Ahly and Mamelodi Sundowns progressed into the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League after seeing off Simba SC 2-0 and Young Africans on penalties in the second leg of the quarter-finals on Friday night.
The Egyptian heavyweights defeated the Tanzanian giants 1-0 in the first leg in Dar es Salaam last week and completed the job on home turf in the return leg thanks to second half goals from Amr El Solia and Mahmoud Kahraba for a 3-0 aggregate victory.

Sundowns and Young Africans meanwhile played out another goalless in Pretoria just like in the first leg in Dar es Salaam.
Off to penalties it went and it was the away side that faltered as 2023 Africa Cup of Nations star Ronwen Williams saved two of their three missed spot kicks while the Brazilians misses just once, handing them a 3-2 victory.
